Cebu Guitar Festival 007
Tuesday, November 27, 2007
The Outpost, November 22, 23, and 24. Another reason why I fell in love with Cebu is because just like me, Cebu loves music. Cebu is the guitar capital of the Philippines not only because they create the best quality guitars in the country, their musicians ROOOOOOOCK!
3 days of Rockin and Rollin is enough to give this girl a whiplash injury.

Wave of Sorrow
Wednesday, November 14, 2007I got this email this morning, and I am inspired… I'm a huge U2 fan, and I wish Bono would ask me to marry him because I'd say yes in a heartbeat. (I can dream, can't I?) I'm just so in love with this man. Below is the email sent by iLike on Facebook.
***
Dear iLike user on Facebook,
I'm writing to tell you about an amazing video clip that U2 has just posted on iLike - it means a lot to me and I think it's a little bit of rock'n'roll history.
(Forgive me for the mass email — we've never done this before. I've included my email address below if you want to contact me.) -edit: I am going to remove his email address because this is not on facebook, ok?
Today, U2 used iLike to post a personal message from Bono, singing - and talking us through - "Wave of Sorrow". It's a track that U2 demoed during sessions for The Joshua Tree in 1987. Just recently Bono laid down vocals for the song and it will be released for the first time next week on the remastered release of The Joshua Tree. As Bono plays us the track, he also tells the powerful story of the song. I found it quite moving!
Since we started iLike a year ago, our vision has been to bring people together through music. As others follow U2's lead, this could transform how artists connect with fans. To get concert alerts & content from other artists, tell us which artists you like.
Sincerely,
Hadi Partovi, co-founder, iLike
p.s. On a personal note, I was in the room when this video was filmed. My brother recorded it on his cameraphone. Now that's a memory to treasure!

The Moalboal Escapade
Monday, November 12, 2007
I wanted to go to Moalboal because I've never been there in the almost 4 years I've stayed here in Cebu. So I decided to go to Moalboal and invited whomever would come.
Date: November 10 to 11, 2007
Travel time ~ 2 hours by private car (~200KM)
Company: Steven, Cristy, Bekah, Bubbles, and Ced
Transportation: Steven's Isuzu Alterra
Among my officemates, only Steven and Cristy could come. Among my evil ampao girls, only Ced, Bubbles, Bekah and Catt could be there. (Catt was already there with her lovey dovey Will the day before.)
We left at 1PM as Ced gets off work at 12NN. Steven was awesome enough to bring his spankin brand new Isuzu Alterra so we travelled in style. The damn SUV even has monitors behind the headrests of the driver and front passenger seats so the passengers at the back could watch TV or movies! So I brough a 16-in-1 DVD. We chose a movie which all of us haven't seen yet. We chose Ten for Starters (This is not a movie review post so I'm not going to talk about the movies, ok?) Since there were only 6 of us and the car was so spacious you could actually sprawl, our travel was so relaxing and comfortable.
Bekah and I had already bought groceries earlier in the day, but we stopped over the local market near Moalboal to buy mineral water, ice, fruits, fresh fish and pork (the evil ampao girls do not eat pork but my Focus kids will bawl if I didn't buy pork.)
In Moalboal, we stayed in a huge room in Delgado's Resort in front of the awesome beach that could have more than 10 people rest comfortably for only Php1200/night. Since we are the kind who do not require hot showers, bath tubs, or in-house restaurants to survive, this place was perfect for us. Actually, all we need is a clean toilet. That's it.
We prepared, cooked, grilled our own food. It's so much funner.
I had such an amazing time. I luff it so much!

I could just cry now. I thought I lost you for good, even though I had a feeling deep inside me that you'd come back, that you wouldn't give up on me too. I didn't know where you were for 4 days. I never stopped looking for you.
Now you're back! I couldn't be any happier! I could see that you are so exhausted. It took you a very long time to come to when I placed you in your cradle. Oh my XDA IIs! I'm so happy you're back in my arms! I luff you!

P.S.
Please don't be jealous of N95. I'm thankful that he kept me company while you were gone, but he knows, you know, and I know that he could never take your place in my heart. And I want to thank the very honest people of Iloilo for giving me my baby back.
Revisiting My Genesis
Thursday, November 8, 2007I don't know what came into me, but I wanted to see the house I was born in… it's an old house my grandparents used to rent. I had wonderful memories of my very early years in that place.
This is how it looks now… well nothing really changed. It still looks the same way it always did… I think. (click to see a bigger picture)
My ex-boyfriend and I were having a discussion as to why it came to me to visit that house. He thought I might be unhappy, or depressed or something… I thought about it and accessed my real emotions and tried to see if I were really depressed or unhappy…
Then it hit me. It was the opposite. I have never really acknowledged where I came from. I wanted to see it again because I wanted to acknowledge and embrace the simplicity of my beginning. I am proud of it. I am happy of who I am now and I have so many possibilities ahead of me that I went back to thank my past.
Halloween Parties Galore
I didn't realize this was sitting in my drafts folder for quite some time.
