Do you believe in Luck?

Well, do you? Some people don't because they didn't want to think that they have no control over their future. I used t think that way too. But now, I think it is, but I don't think that our future is entirely pre-ordained. I don't think that it's already written in the stars or we're destined to one fate or something.

Why do I believe in luck? There are some things we have no control over. Like the parents we are born unto, catastrophes, etc. Some people are lucky to have been born to good parents, or rich families, while some are born to poverty. Is it not luck that delivered them to those circumstance? A baby cannot choose right?

If two person had the same goal, say for example become the manager of a company, one of them is luckier than the other because say, the CEO is a family friend. Both persons may have exerted the same effort, did exactly the same amount of work, but the luckier person has the better chances of getting the job right?

Another example, 2 sales people are assigned to two different areas, one area needs the product greatly, the other has no need for it. It would be easier for the luckier person to reach his quotas right? Sure the other can reach his quota as well, but he'd probably crawl his way to meeting it.

Being at the right place at the right time is luck right?
We can still get what we want if we put our mind to it, but a luckier person can get it too at a much lesser effort. That's why I think luck exists.

Which leads me to another thought… Are there really factors that affect luck? You know, like feng shui and stuff… People do logically stupid things because they think it will bring in luck. But can feng shui, or talismans or what have yous really affect or alter luck? What do you think? Ok, sharon back to thinking mode again…. (idle)
